• The Hour Angle axis must be parallel to the earth's polar axis (and hence, perpendicular to the equatorial plane). Rotation of the antenna about this axis moves the antenna beam along a line which is parallel to the Celestial Equator. When properly adjusted, the angle Ø between the hour angle axis and earth's surface equals the latitude at the antenna site. • The Declination axis must be perpendicular to the hour angle axis (and hence, parallel to the equatorial plane). Rotation of the antenna about this axis moves the antenna beam along a line which is perpendicular to the Celestial Equator. |
